Lukas talks to his hometown about winning Rock Star Supernova and hanging at Tommy Lee's crib.
For Lee, there was never any question that Rossi was the one. “I realized he was the guy for us the very first day we met him. The first time I saw him, I was, like, ‘That’s my boy,’” said Lee. “All my life, I’ve always wanted to be in a band with a singer like this. You can’t teach someone to be a rock star. The way he moves ... you either have that, or you don’t.”
"It's like a mountain of power behind me," the Toronto singer said of performing live with Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses) and Jason Newsted. "It's going to be a great rock show, I can tell you that." According to Canadian reports, Lee has even opened his Los Angeles home to Rossi.
Judging by his behavior at the show's wrap party later that night, it seems Lukas has taken to his new rock star role quite naturally. Flanked on all sides by L.A.'s dimmest and drunkest, Lukas handled the ladies like he'd been negotiating groupie advances forever. To say that he liked the attention would be a major understatement. Even growing up, Lukas tells us, he didn't have pictures of his favorite bands the Cult or Smashing Pumpkins on his bedroom wall. "I wanted to be the one on the poster!"
Rossi says while he believed he could be the guy all along, his nerves caught up with him at the end. "That was probably the only time I felt nervous, when it came down to two of us." So how did he celebrate? "I had a great time last night. I went to Geisha House and saw everybody from the show, friends and family. It was a really dope evening."

After spending about eight hours posting your comments about Rock Star, I managed to get the winner on the phone for a few minutes. What follows is my conversation with Lukas Rossi, newly crowned -- and hotly debated -- frontman of the Band Formerly Known as Supernova:
excerpt re: Lukas Rossi
Last night on Rock Star: Supernova, band members Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted and Gilby Clarke picked Toronto native Lukas Rossi as their lead singer. The spiky-haired, makeup wearing singer will get right into the studio with the band to record vocals for their first album, which is due November 21 via Epic Records. The only mystery now is what the band will be called, since yesterday a judge ordered the producers to come up with a different name for the group when he granted an injunction to a California band also named Supernova. "Lukas is the real deal," says Tommy Lee. "He proved that he's got the voice and swagger to front this band. He's gonna tear it up in the studio and then we're taking the show on the road." Rossi commented, "This is the gig of a lifetime. That I'll be singing in a band with Tommy, Gilby and Jason - guys that I've always respected - is just surreal. Can't wait to get started." The band will hit the road on New Years Eve in Las Vegas.
