Rossi brought it home with a very rangy voice that was absolutely soothing one moment and curdling the next. But it is a beautiful instrument and he plays it with obvious talent. And he leaves every bit of himself on stage. His music is worn on his sleeve and taps into his emotions like a spigot into a keg of Labatt's Blue.

Lukas Rossi, Jon Jamieson, and German Briseno, join Chelsea Cannell on Rockremedy to discuss their new album, Mood Swings, and all things Stars Down in this FIVE part interview.

Some people gave him flack, thinking stardom was handed to him when he was chosen to lead the band Rockstar Supernova with Gilby Clarke, Tommy Lee and Jason Newsted. The truth is Lukas Rossi has been working the music scene for most of his life.

Like a phoenix Lukas Rossi rises from ashes and rocks his way through North America. Despite what happened with Rockstar: Supernova there is no end in sight for this Canadian musician. His acoustic tour stretches from Hollywood, California all the way to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Thanks to Rodney Rivette, the promoter for Cornwall and Toronto, locked doors were blown wide open for a rare interview opportunity with the rising star.

Lukas Rossi will be ringing in 2008 in much more modest style than he did in 2007.

As a dwindling number of you might recall, last New Year's Eve marked the live debut of the star-powered band Toronto native Rossi was picked to lead from a field of 14 internationally drawn contestants on the popular "reality" show Rock Star: Supernova.

Since the original lineup featured almighty Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, ex-Guns `n' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke and former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted – replaced before touring could begin by the Black Crowes' Johnny Colt when he suffered a shoulder injury – and the show was a major hit, there was a certain smugness within the music industry that Supernova, the band, couldn't fail.

"This is my baby," Rossi explains. "Stars Down, you know, it's me and my experiences. The songs are going to be about the metamorphosis of who I am and what I've gone through and so forth."

This past summer, Rossi independently released a four-track disc of original acoustic tracks. Since then, he's been touring across Canada and the U.S. doing performances only accompanied by a keyboard player.

According to Rossi, the stripped-down solo material is just a taste of what he has in store with Stars Down, which he describes as "a sexy disaster" that's "very crushing" and "much heavier" than Rock Star Supernova.

But Rossi isn't ungrateful. He refers to his time with the CBS project as "an extremely positive experience," and repeatedly offers thanks to God for the opportunity.

After a successful Lukas Rossi concert this past weekend, the local SPCA is hoping to have the new shelter on the ground before the snow flies. Close to $6,000 was raised for the SPCA at the Saturday night concert at the Kooler.

When it comes to music, Lukas Rossi is all work and no play.

The 29-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter, who is best known for winning the reality TV show Rock Star: Supernova, spent Halloween night doing media and rehearsing for his Canadian tour, which is now underway.

"Music is what my entire life is about," said Rossi, who has been playing in bands since he was 15.

Lukas Rossi, a Canadian rock singer and the winner of Rock Star: Supernova, stopped by Tyler's home Tuesday before his solo acoustic concert at the Tila Tequila night club on Clarence Street.

"Lukas was pretty cool," said Ms. Huneault, who was put in touch with the heavy metal singer's publicist by someone from, of all places, her church.

Although the first album that's sprouted from Rock Star: Supernova hasn’t proven to be a big hit, it clearly has promise and its own steady following. The group is already preparing to release a second one before 2008. The spirited Rossi has been prepping his own solo album for release--and as well, kicks-off his much anticipated tour in Cali this week.

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA guitarist Gilby Clarke will be today's (Saturday, April 28) special guest on Camp Freddy Radio, which airs on Indie 103.1 FM in Los Angeles, California.

Although Rossi didn't confirm Clarke's exit from the band, he told ET Canada that "there will be a name change… the best is yet to come!" He also said that he is working on lyrics for a new album.
